CURTIS KNIGHT  

He was very much active in the music business, as a recording artist and an international touring concert performer.  

In 1964, Curtis discovered Jimi Hendrix in New York City and together they performed on the Rock circuit along the East coast of the US for approximately two years.

Together they were a moving force in the beginning of a new fusion of Rock, Rhythm & Blues, Indian Music and traditional Blues.

This explosive package of Jimi and Curtis ushered in a new form of music that became known as "Psychedelic" and/or "Acid Rock", and "Hard Rock" 

Curtis was the first to urge Jimi to sing, and took him into the recording studio, allowing him to express his own creative freedom. They recorded many albums together before Jimi gained worldwide recognition, and during the height of his popularity with the "Experience" Jimi recorded two additional albums with Curtis Knight.

These recordings with Curtis where the first known recordings with Jimi singing and playing. Curtis fully realized that Jimi's potential was boundless and that his destiny was to leave musical footprints in the sands of time. 

After Jimi formed the "Experience" Curtis continued with his own solo career recording for many major labels world wide such as "Capitol Records", "R.C.A", "DECCA", "Philips", "Paramount" and many other labels throughout the years.

During the 1970's, Curtis moved to London, England where he formed his group "Curtis Knight, Zeus" and toured throughout Europe. This is also where he showed his phenomenal ability to find and develop new raw talent. Curtis discovered another unknown amazing guitarist: Eddie Clarke, also known as "Fast Eddie", who after spending time with Curtis Knight In The Group Zeus became world famous with the group Mötorhead.
"Curtis Knight in 1972, signed a recording agreement with "Pye Records" of England and released an album titled "The Second Coming" on the "Dawn" Label. 
In the latter part of the 1970"s, during the "Punk Rock" explosion, Curtis Discovered the first black Punk Rock group, he brought them to England and they quickly became famous throughout Europe. The group was known as "Pure Hell".
During the 80's and into the 90's, while he was running his own "limousine business", Curtis worked with a multitude of singers and musicians, helping them to have an opportunity to have a chance in the music business. 

In 1989 "SPV" records, Germany, released the best selling CD by Curtis and the Midnite Gypsy's titled "Eyes Upon The Sky"Niki Buzz 

In 1992 Curtis packed his bags and moved to Amsterdam, and in 1997 to Lelystad-Haven, Flevoland. 
Since then he recorded three new CD's:

ON THE ROAD AGAIN, (Columns/Virgin) 

Together with Martin Weber-C he founded the DoubleRainbow / HappyDream-Music Label in 1999
and has written and co-produced:

Curtis has been seen and experienced throughout Europe in places such as Holland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Poland and France. Curtis has recently finished a book called "The Wind Cries", which traces the history of music. This book is an indepth chronicle of the life and death and the aftermath of Jimi Hendrix as well as many others that have touched and affected our lives. - (Soon to be released throughout the world.)
